Rappers Whose Lyrics Didn’t Age Well

Nipsey Hussle ( Ocean Views)
The Grammy winning artist Nipsey is known for his hustle themed music which catapulted him into stardom. He sadly died before he could see his full potential as he was shot killed in 2018.

In an ironic twist on his song Ocean Views he is quoted saying.

” I don’t know about Hell, I don’t know about Heaven

All I know is ’bout right now and this lifestyle is interesting

Iced down in my section, I just write down these confessions

People die to get life around me, I guess that I’m an exception

Blessings “

Listening to this lyric sounds weird knowing he was killed in a song that mourned his fallen soldiers.

Young Dolph

He was among the most decorated independent rapper of the 2010’s.

On his song platinum selling song Major featuring his cousin Key Glock that was released in 2018 , Dolph said

gave ten percent to the pastor (church)

Keep goin’ up the ladder (ayy), they mad, make ’em madder (hey)

Told my son when I’m gone you gon’ be a rich lil’ hommie

This lyric came to pass as unfortunately the rapper was killed in November 2021 ,leaving most of his wealth to his son as he has predicted years before.

Young Thug .

The Grammy rapper became famous for his use of auto tune which morphed into Mumble rap , a genre he is considered as a pioneer.

On the song Pickup the phone released in 2016 featuring Travis Scott & Quavo . Young thug is quoted saying

” I feel lucky, I should play the lottery (Yeah)

Walkin’ off with it like Sonny Liston (Whoa)

Mama told me I’m her brightest star (Yeah)

Mama told me don’t hate on the law (Ow)

Because everybody got a job “”

This line hasn’t aged well as young thug was arrested in 2022 for being the head of a criminal gang that caused alot of menace in Atlanta . For unlike his song ,Young Thug wasn’t respecting the law at all .

This charges include murder for hire, racketeering, drug trafficking among other charges .
